Parental/Guardian Responsibilities

The parent/guardian agrees:

To acknowledge that CCS Online curriculum (Alpha and Omega Publications) is written from a Christ-centered Christian world-view in accordance with the CCS mission statement.

To guide and motivate the student to complete the course of study prescribed by the CCS Online on a daily basis, with the freedom to creatively enrich the basic studies with additional projects, field trips, and lab work.

To supervise their student(s) in such a way that maximum learning and achievement may take place. The parent/guardian is responsible for the child’s education. The parent/guardian further understands that the work the student submits to the CCS Online should be the student’s solely, independent of any other resources (e.g., answer keys, lesson text, “coaching,” etc.).

To ensure that their child submits work on a regular basis to allow for ongoing oversight by CCS Online staff.

To know, and abide by, the homeschool laws of their country, province, state, and local county or parish. Go to HSLDA for a brief description of state laws and the corresponding websites and e-mail addresses of the homeschool associations.

To study and become familiar with the CCS Online orientation materials, curriculum, parent/teacher’s manual and to abide by all policies and procedures therein.

To pay the tuition, or the first payment plan installment, before the CCS Online curriculum is assigned. Tuition payments must be paid as scheduled by the CCS Online Campus. Tuition covers curriculum and services.

To help keep the communication lines open by letting CCS Online teachers know when your student is struggling or is frustrated.

To acknowledge that students are expected to live a wholesome Christian life. Students will be subject to immediate expulsion for the use of alcohol, illegal drugs, and/or any misuse of prescription drugs. Sexual activity of any kind is not condoned.

To acknowledge that their student is not under behavioral probation, suspension, expulsion, or any other behavioral conditions from their previous school. Administration will consider acceptance of students who have been expelled or suspended on a case-by-case basis. If such previous history was not shared at the time of enrollment but is subsequently learned about a current CCS Online student, that student will not be allowed to remain enrolled at CCS Online.

To acknowledge that CCS Online reserves the right to cancel enrollment at any time due to nonpayment of fees, unsatisfactory progress, program abuse or plagiarism, or failure to follow CCS Online procedures.

To encourage the student to show courtesy and respect in all communications with the CCS Online staff and teacher.

Please Note: CCS Online is not staffed at this time to service students with special learning needs. I understand that the registration fee is nonrefundable regardless of placement test results. I have read and understand the cancellation and refund policy. If I choose to cancel or withdraw my student(s), I must notify CCS Online in writing or by e-mail.

Statement on Marriage, Gender and Sexuality

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen 1:26-27.) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. This belief also accounts for (1) dressing in conformance with one’s biological sex; (2) using the restrooms, locker rooms, and changing facilities conforming to one’s biological sex. “Biological sex” means the condition of being male or female, which is determined by a person’s chromosomes, and is identified at birth by a person’s anatomy. Those who reject their biological sex are sometimes referred to as “transgender.” intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4.) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of the bounds of marriage between one man and one woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality and sexual conduct outside the marital union of one man and one woman (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor 6:9-10.)

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Cornerstone Christian Schools (CCS) as an expression of the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the families of CCS and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by CCS, in any capacity, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thess 5:22.)

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11.)

The Sanctity of Human Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps 139.)

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31.) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Cornerstone Christian Schools.

Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Cornerstone Christian Schools’ faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Church is the school’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

Students, families and/or employees who fail to abide by the above policies, and those contained in their respective handbooks, will be subject to denied enrollment/re-enrollment, expulsion or termination, as the case may be.
