History & Geography is presented in a reading based format and utilizes a combination of on-and off-computer assignments. The program is presented with the goal of developing in students an understanding of and appreciation for God's activity as seen in the record of man and his relationships. The use if primary sources of history (photos, videos, recordings) is a valuable means of introducing students to actual historical documents, speeches, etc. This allows them to "view" the events of history in context. The following content strands are included; Geography, History, Government and Citizenship, Economics, Social Studies Skills and Special Topics. Geography focuses on both world and American geographic distinctives. History includes World History and the History of Religion while Social Studies Skills are incorporated in Map Reading. Research Skills and the Historical Method. Special Topics consist of Career Preparation and Financial Management which guide the students in practical life skills.
